De Nederlandsche Bank

Banks play an important role in society by managing savings and using those funds to provide loans, such as mortgages or business loans, while also offering payment services. Although they are commercial, profit-driven entities, the government imposes strict requirements, compelling them to maintain sufficient cash reserves and prevent the use of their financial flow by criminals. Furthermore, a safety net is in place to guarantee customers their savings back, up to €100,000, should a bank encounter difficulties.
